Reporting to the Manager, Applications, this role will contribute towards successful IT project delivery for OTF. This role is responsible for system process design, configuration, implementing enhancements, maintenance and assisting with ad-hoc requests. This role works with the development team and business stakeholders to ensure project deliverables and timelines for critical business systems are achieved.
What Can I Expect to do in this Role?
- Analyze business requirements and recommend solution options, considering functionality, security, privacy, maintainability, scalability, and organizational standards.
- Develop applications based on business needs in a client-centric, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
- Conduct thorough QA testing, establish test plans, investigate issues, track defects, and suggest solutions to improve system quality.
- Manage UAT testing by creating test files/credentials, providing guidance, and validating that requirements and user expectations are met.
- Manage and update existing scripts for maintenance purposes.
- Perform system security/performance upgrades and feature enhancements.
- Apply coding standards while developing and perform peer code review if required.
- Perform deployment from development environment to testing/production environment.
- Develop and maintain "walk-thrus" and "flows" in WalkMe, to align with OTF web application changes and enhancements.
- Identify, develop, test, and support automation and AI-enabled solutions using approved tools and platforms, ensuring alignment with business needs, security requirements, and organizational standards.
- Provide granting system support to other departments as required.
- Monitor production systems, prioritize issues, perform root cause analysis, and offer recommendations for resolution, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Document changes and provide knowledge transfer.
- Flag and report potential problems or out-of-scope requests from stakeholders to the Manager of IT Applications.
- Coordinate with vendors for issues, upgrades, enhancements, and questions.
- Contribute ideas and recommendations to optimize business systems and processes.
Skills and Attributes
- Software development experience using Agile and waterfall methodologies.
- Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, XML and CSS.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to understand and analyze business needs, and to communicate this understanding to others.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn.
- Experience with granting business functions and the not-for-profit sector is a definite asset.

How Do I Qualify?
- Post-secondary degree in Information Technology or Information Management, Computer Science, or the equivalent in experience
- Solid knowledge and experience in web-based application development.
- Experience designing and implementing complex business application solutions, including workflow automation, system integration, and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to assess solution options and provide technical recommendations that balance business requirements, risk, security, and long-term supportability.
- Knowledge of application architecture, integration concepts, data flows, and solution design principles in enterprise environments.
- Experience with AI and automation tools to support solution design, prototyping, process improvement, and business application enhancements.
- Experience with application configuration within a low-code platform e.g. configuration of fields, creation of workflows, implementation, testing.
