In light of this, OTF is seeking applications for the position of Director, Partnership Investments (PI) reporting to the Vice-President, Granting. This position plays an important role in advancing the mandate of OTF and is responsible for leading a small, motivated team of partnership development specialists. This role demands business development and partnership expertise, as well as leadership experience working across a variety of sectors that include non-profit organizations, public institutions, businesses and government.
Purpose: Reporting to the Vice-President, Granting, and working with a small team of 4, the Director, Partnership Investments, will provide leadership to the Partnership Investments (PI) Program including the development of partnerships and delivery of partnership grants.
What Can I Expect to do in this Role?
Strategic Leadership
Working with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), support the design of the investment and granting framework for the Partnership Investments Program and lead its implementation including processes and activities to ensure the PI program successfully contributes to the Foundation’s strategy and mission
Develop and oversee the execution of an annual and multi-year PI program plan
Provide strategic thinking and leadership to the team from the exploration of potential projects and partners through active partnerships through grant closures
Provide strategic advice to the Vice-President of Granting on partnership issues and opportunities, Partnership grants and the Partnership Investments framework, as well as resource management
External Relations and Partnership Development
Champion the Partnership Investments (PI) Program with relevant stakeholders
- Research and implement viable and effective methods for building strategic partnerships to drive the success of the program against OTF Business Plan priorities
- Direct the development of a pipeline of opportunities relevant to meeting the objectives of the PI Program
Create clear strategies to guide staff engagement in external relationships with potential partners and other stakeholders from the public, private and nonprofit sectors, including all levels of government
Build on existing relationships and forge new relationships across Ontario. Steward those relationships
Operational Oversight and Leadership
Balance external relations with internal leadership and management of the Program and team
Lead the development, implementation, and documentation of OTF PI partnership and development and granting processes ensuring they are fair, transparent, accountable and in compliance with OTF and PI program guidelines and directives
Monitor PI program performance, implement relevant measurement goals and lead quarterly and annual program reporting
Lead digitization of the PI program onto OTF’s online granting platform
Oversee the issuing of Partnership Agreements, grant payments and successful closure of a portfolio of partnerships
Participate as a member of the OTF Leadership Forum to align with OTF’s strategy, business plan, operational plan, policies, guidelines etc., for implementation in a consistent way across the foundation
Commitment to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion within the Program
Financial Management and Performance Management
Prepare, monitor and report on PI granting and team operational budget in line with directives and policies
Manage resources needed to achieve program objectives and goals
Lead and manage a team of 4 direct reports located in various locations in Ontario to effectively and efficiently deliver the PI program including recruitment, coaching, mentoring and performance review
Ensure risk management considerations are routinely factored into partnership development and grants
Develop and oversee a business continuity plan for the PI program
Oversee the development of an annual department workplan
Skills and Attributes
Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience at a director level role in corporate, and non-profit or government
Proven track record in partnership and business development preferably across a variety of sectors
Proven track record in developing and leading stakeholder relations to advance business goals
Proven experience leading a high performing team
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with strong presentation, facilitation and writing skills
A positive, forward-looking, mindset
Granting experience
Demonstrated record of delivering inclusive leadership
Organizational, project management and change-management skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work positively with a wide range of people with diverse sensibilities and competing needs

How Do I Qualify?
Minimum of 5 – 8 years of successful experience leading business and partnership development of which it is essential to have 3 – 5 years of corporate experience
Experience working collaboratively at a senior level across sectors including public, private, government and non-profit
Proven track record leading stakeholder relations to advance business goals
Experience managing a team of high performing staff
Knowledge of granting
Knowledge of the diversity of the Foundation’s clientele and stakeholder groups
Ability to travel across Ontario as needed
