The fund is available to a wide range of groups across Ontario, including:
- Not-for-profit corporations
- Registered charities
- Broader public sector organizations such as school boards
- Universities and colleges
- Municipal governments and district social service administration boards
Indigenous communities and Indigenous-led organizations
Social enterprises are welcome to apply as long as they are either a registered charity or nonprofit organization.
Partnership is one of the key criteria for applying to the Fund. Private-sector organizations cannot not be the lead applicant for funding, but could partner in funded projects in many ways, for example through in-kind supports, financial contributions, providing evaluation expertise, or by providing jobs and apprenticeship opportunities.
Individuals and organizations that are not registered charities or nonprofits are not eligible for the LPRF.
