In 2016, the Ontario Trillium Foundation implemented the Services to the Community (STC) program as a way to collaborate with others in Ontario’s public benefit sector to help build both the capacity and resiliency of the sector.
We define Services to the Community as activities other than grants, such as convening, knowledge sharing, capacity-building and technical assistance. The program is about supporting our grantees and the broader public benefit sector in ways that go beyond our granting dollars.
Services to the Community Priorities for 2017-2020:
Provide support and professional development opportunities for leaders at various levels in OTF-funded organizations and those in the broader public benefit sector
Facilitate cross-sectoral thinking and learning among organizations and create opportunities to develop ideas for new approaches and collaborations
Support collaboration and innovation among organizations and leverage partnerships to build a stronger public benefit sector
Provide sector-focused technical support and capacity-building opportunities around evaluation and measurement
Priorities are identified through consultations with key sector leaders and stakeholders from across Ontario. By incorporating stakeholder input, we are developing services that respond to real community need in a way that truly drives impact in the public benefit sector.
Please note that we do not sponsor conferences, annual meetings and other public events. However, if you think your organization’s initiative fits with our Investment Strategy, we encourage you to apply for a grant.
