We are one of Canada’s largest granting foundation and an agency of the Government of Ontario. With a budget of over $136 million, OTF awards grants to some 1,000 projects every year to build healthy and vibrant Ontario communities. The Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) is a program of the Government of Ontario administered by OTF. YOF provides grants and capacity building supports to community-based organizations and grassroots groups serving young people who face multiple barriers to economic and social wellbeing throughout the Province. We are committed to supporting youth living in urban areas, rural areas, and remote communities.
Reporting to the Director of Youth Opportunities Fund, and in collaboration with other team members, the Program Manager is responsible for the delivery of the granting program. The role will identify initiatives that provide opportunities to youth, in particular, projects focused on evidence-based outcomes that address identified gaps in support systems as well as projects that create opportunities for innovation. This role includes regular travel to Toronto and other parts of the province, including remote communities, depending on the outreach and grantee support needs.

- Initiate community engagement activities to reach out and engage young people
- Meet with and provide counseling to groups apt to benefit from the YOF program and assist in developing the capacity to access the program
- Review grant applications and present recommendations to the Grant Review Committee (GRC) in line with YOF goals and OTF’s priorities, policies and best practices
- Monitors and supports active grants and their compliance with grant requirements and facilitates problem solving, where appropriate
- Represents the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) and the Youth Opportunities Fund with a wide and diverse range of stakeholders
- Understand the social, cultural, and economic contexts in which Indigenous youth live, work, and engage for change through both lived experience and professional experience
- Strong connections with Indigenous communities, both on-reserve and off-reserve
- Have excellent facilitation skills with diverse groups
- Are familiar with the processes required to engage a variety of individuals and organizations in partnerships and collaborative projects
- A “digital first” mindset to enable efficient business processes through the use of technology
- Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license
- Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset

- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant discipline
- Three to five years progressive experience within the non-profit, public or foundation sectors or an acceptable equivalent in education and experience
