To engage youth aged 16 to 25 from the Toronto communities of Regent Park, Kingston Galloway/Orton Park, Malvern and Jamestown to train under top theatre, dance, video and music professionals. Participants will collaborate to create a final showcase of their original work. Funds will support staffing and program administration costs.

To support Advocacy for Change: A Community Mental Health Initiative, a resident-led consumer survivor advisory group that will guide the work of the Northwest Community Mental Health Network, composed of 25 organizations providing mental health services to residents of Toronto's Jane & Finch community. The initiative will build the skills of individual participants, improve community mental health literacy, and both inform and improve local service delivery.

To coordinate a personalized music program that will reach people with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, and engage 100 volunteers, particularly youth, in an iPod donation drive and the provision of technical support and online content. Website and social media components will also be launched to connect with other agencies, encourage financial donations and enable the recycling of digital audio players.

To deliver 50 board leadership development training sessions to not-for-profit organizations in Toronto. The initiative will target groups serving youth, marginalized individuals and newcomers. The capacity of the organizations will be strengthened by being matched with chartered accountants seeking to serve with these organizations as board members or treasurers.

To increase community outreach and partnership-building efforts to deepen the impact of this social finance enterprise across Toronto. Workshops on financial literacy, business planning and business skills development will also be delivered to disadvantaged individuals, increasing their opportunities to receive a microloan.

To provide South Asian seniors with accessible, culturally specific and integrated physical recreation opportunities. Tamil- and Bengali-speaking outreach workers will be hired to coordinate programming at Birchmount Bluffs Neighbourhood Centre, West Scarborough Neighbourhood Community Centre, Warden Woods Neighbourhood Centre and Harmony Hall Centre for Seniors in Toronto.

To hire staff, re-design the organization's website and purchase office equipment to increase the efficiency of the festival, increase its visibility and to become self-sustainable. The Toronto festival celebrates and promotes French language cinema by presenting films from worldwide Francophone communities including Ontario and Québec.

To increase the capacity of diverse Toronto youth aged 16 to 29 to become HIV/sexual health peer educators in their local communities through the arts. Digital storytelling videos will be created and workshops will be delivered to over 200 youth per year.

To renovate and purchase equipment for training, performance and administrative functions in the new Artscape YOUNGplace building in Toronto. This will enhance the theatre's capacity to deliver high-calibre, culturally-specific performance training and to interpret, present and develop contemporary Aboriginal theatrical works in downtown west Toronto.

To expand the Grassroots Organizing and Leadership (GOAL) Youth Capacity Building Workshop Series to provide Toronto youth with the skills, resources, networks and opportunities to support their life goals. Funds will be used to offer more workshops per year and in new locations, expand their content, enhance online learning, offer youth facilitation training and improve evaluation activities.
