To maintain access to this well used community building in Waterford. Grant funds will be used to increase energy efficiency through the replacement of windows and air conditioner in the room used by the local seniors activity group, to increase the safety of the entrance to the seniors' room, and for exterior building repairs and maintenance.

To increase public access to the waterfront by supporting the creation of a community park, look-out platform and marsh trail in Port Rowan. The new park will create a community gathering space and will be a focal point for tourists visiting the area.

To build on efforts to preserve First Nations languages. Grant funds will be used to purchase 30 MacBook computers which will be used to form two language labs, one for Cayuga and one for Mohawk, where community members can practice spoken language skills and build their fluency.

To raise awareness of bullying and homophobia through support for staging a production of the play "The Laramie Project" in Brantford in the fall of 2012. Funding will be used to assist with marketing and promotion costs.
