To increase community access to records used for family research. Grant funds will be used to purchase microfilm copies of the Dunnville Chronicle and Gazette dating back to 1884. These will be used by historians and family researchers from across Haldimand County and by visitors with family connections to the area.

To maintain access to this well used community building in Waterford. Grant funds will be used to increase energy efficiency through the replacement of windows and air conditioner in the room used by the local seniors activity group, to increase the safety of the entrance to the seniors' room, and for exterior building repairs and maintenance.

To increase public access to the waterfront by supporting the creation of a community park, look-out platform and marsh trail in Port Rowan. The new park will create a community gathering space and will be a focal point for tourists visiting the area.

To build on efforts to preserve First Nations languages. Grant funds will be used to purchase 30 MacBook computers which will be used to form two language labs, one for Cayuga and one for Mohawk, where community members can practice spoken language skills and build their fluency.

To raise awareness of bullying and homophobia through support for staging a production of the play "The Laramie Project" in Brantford in the fall of 2012. Funding will be used to assist with marketing and promotion costs.

To increase opportunities for physical activity for people of all ages in Dunnvillle. Grant funds will be used to install a rubberized surface on the walking / running track at the local arena, making the walking track more accessible to older adults and those with joint and arthritis issues.

To increase understanding of the needs of immigrant women experiencing domestic violence. Funding will be used to complete a needs assessment and also to train front line workers at local social services in Brantford and Brant County on how best to support immigrant women in abusive relationships.

To increase awareness of the local trails and unique environmental, cultural and agricultural features of Norfolk County through the development of a one-stop website called "Explore Norfolk Trails". The website will help visitors to the area discover the many different trail and outdoor attractions in Norfolk, be a driver for tourism related economic activity, and will be shared by a wide range of environmental organizations, trail groups, the municipality and local businesses.

To increase opportunities for children and youth in Brant Haldimand and Norfolk to access high quality environmental education opportunities. Grant funds will be used to increase the organization's capacity to deliver programs which engage youth in outdoor, environmental themed activities.
