The initiative will harness the power of documentary films to encourage community dialogue, inspire civic engagement and combat isolation among newcomers.

To provide a barrier-free elevator to a performance venue on the second floor of the Hensall Town Hall. This will improve its accessibility, helping to increase the engagement of community members, including youth, in the arts.

To test a centralized bulk-food delivery program that is intended to decrease the burden on volunteers and increase the number of children who are fed nutritious food. Staff will be hired to work directly with manufacturers, farmers and donors in order to obtain quality food items at a lower cost. Almost 7000 elementary schoolchildren in Waterloo will benefit.

To purchase light-weight four-season camping equipment and provide advanced first-aid training to scout leaders and whitewater training to scout venturers and leaders. The scouts group will be able to offer more challenging multi-day programs for older youth. And the overall safety of programming will be maintained as it is extended into the winter season.

To enhance the accessibility and the safety of the Vanastra Recreation Centre by installing barrier-free washrooms and non-slip flooring in the swimming pool area. These renovations will encourage the increased participation of community members, especially individuals with mobility difficulties, in active-living programs.
