To pilot Gardens2Groceries by installing six tower gardens in Orillia. This collaborative project will provide a source of fresh, nutritious produce for the local food bank, offer educational volunteer opportunities for over 100 youth and 100 seniors, and develop youth awareness and connection to growing and harvesting food. Over 1000 lbs of food is expected to be grown.

To upgrade kitchen ventilation equipment, which will improve safety and enable community members to better enjoy the Allisonville Hall facility. This will also help to sustain function rentals and attendance at community celebrations, which provide a revenue base for the lodge.

To install secure doors, which will enhance safety and ice-surface conditions at the Chatsworth arena. These improvements will address the growing need for larger recreational space in this small, rural community within Grey County.

To expand the Citizens Academy's learning program. Workshops, networking events and coaching to over 200 emerging leaders from diverse backgrounds will be offered. Residents will gain a better understanding of civic decision-making, improve their leadership skills and develop networks and partnerships in support of civic engagement.

To support staffing and operational costs so this organization can expand its work to improve social inclusion and provide poverty relief for homeless and addicted clients in Toronto, Hamilton and Peel Region. The organization uses soccer as a way to connect marginalized clients with social service agencies and part-time employment.

To offer educational visits to the One Room Schoolhouse in Oakville to Grade 3 students in Halton. Students will learn about the agricultural heritage of North Oakville and surrounding areas. Funding will support staffing and programming costs.

To increase the responsiveness and strengthen the sustainability of this volunteer-run Stouffville station by completing a listeners' survey and hiring an advertising sales manager. Grant funds will also support print marketing and sales material and the purchase of office equipment.

To develop a toolkit for hosting the Race to Erase, a fundraiser that raises awareness of local businesses and not-for-profits by engaging four-member teams who travel by car and compete in fun-filled events along the way. In August 2014, an inaugural race will be held in Cambridge to promote the fundraiser and comprehensive toolkit to not-for-profits across Ontario.

To install an accessible floating dock to the South Lancaster wharf that will increase public use of the waterfront park. The wharf is the only public waterfront facility in the community. The dock is part of a larger wharf rehabilitation and beautification project.
