Leslyn Lewis

Dr. Leslyn graduated magna cum laude from the University of Toronto (Trinity College). Thereafter she obtained a Juris Doctorate from Osgoode Hall Law School, a Masters in Environmental Studies from York University, an MBA Concentration in Business and the Environment from the Schulich School of Business, and completed a PhD from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University.  
Dr. Lewis is the Managing Partner of Lewis Law professional and has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals on international law, contracts, climate change and the feed-in-tariff system in renewable energy projects. 

She is an active member of her community and has held positions on community boards including as a national board member for the Women’s Legal Education Action Fund, and also on the Canadian Bar Association Joint Action Committee on Equity and Diversity.  She has been the  chair of several boards including Scope Africa, the Black Congress and the Canadian Christian Congress and the Ontario Bar Association Visible Minority Women’s Caucus.  She has volunteered with Women’s Shelters, Homeless Shelters and regularly serves meals at the Good Shepherd Shelter in Toronto. 

Dr. Lewis’ current awards include the 2019 Harry Jerome Award for Professional Excellence, International Scholar in the Harvard Law School Institute of Global Law and Policy, the Law Society of Upper Canada Award for Outstanding Volunteer Contribution in the Legal Profession, the Hon William Z. Estey Teaching Fellowship Award,  the Leadership Award of Merit in Law, the Higher Ground Award for Community Excellence, the United Nations Youth Leadership Training Summit Award, and the Faculty Scholar Achievement Award. 

In addition to participating as a panelist for international law conferences, Dr. Lewis enjoys speaking to young people about pursuing their dreams and strategies to optimize their full potential.
