Thomas Chanzy is the Vice-President, Public Affairs of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, one of Canada’s largest grantmaking Foundations. Part of the Senior Leadership Team, he oversees the Support Centre, all the internal and external communications operations as well as the volunteer and government relations for the Foundation. Thomas is also accountable for the Foundation’s customer service and its privacy and access to information policies and procedures.
Born and raised in France, Thomas moved to Canada in 2001 as an attaché for educational and cultural affairs for the Consulate General of France in Toronto. Director of Communications and Development for Théâtre français de Toronto from 2004 to 2008, Thomas joined provincial politics in 2008, first as a senior communications advisor to the Minister of Community and Social Services, and Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs. He also served as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services, where he worked on many challenging political files until he joined the Ontario Trillium Foundation in October 2013.
Quite familiar with the cultural sector and Ontario’s francophone community, Thomas was a guest commentator for Radio-Canada and TFO for many years is currently a board member of Lycée français de Toronto, the Empire Club of Canada and Philanthropic Foundations Canada.
Thomas has a certificate in Fundraising Management from Ryerson University, a Specialized Master in Private Banking & Financial Planning (ESCP Europe Business School, Paris) and a BA in Political Sciences from the Institute of Political Studies in Grenoble.
