CEO Robin Cardozo will be leaving the Foundation
in the spring
After more than 12 years at the helm of the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), Chief Executive Officer Robin Cardozo will be leaving the Foundation in the spring. Acting Board Chair Janet Passmore and Mr. Cardozo informed the Foundation's Board of Directors today of Robin's intentions. In a simultaneous announcement, Ted Garrard, President & CEO of SickKids Foundation, announced that Mr. Cardozo would be joining that organization in April as Chief Operating Officer.
"Under Robin's inspiring leadership, the Foundation has become one of the most highly respected grant-making organizations in the country", said Janet Passmore. "Robin's commitment to collaboration, integrity, diversity and measurable results has been evident throughout our accomplishments. The impact of OTF grants and community services can be seen in every region of the province. The support of the Government of Ontario over the last 30 years, the work of our Board, staff and grant review team volunteers are all key ingredients in our success."
"I feel truly privileged to have had the opportunity to lead OTF for the last twelve years," said Cardozo. "The Government of Ontario has given us the mandate to contribute to the building of healthy and economically strong communities across the province. Working with a committed Board of Directors, a terrific team of professional staff and knowledgeable community volunteers, we enhance the capacity of the province's not-for-profit sector in critically important ways. I have enjoyed - and learned from - every moment of being a part of this incredible organization."
The OTF Board of Directors is initiating a search process for a new Chief Executive Officer. The process will include the creation of a search committee and the retention of an executive search firm.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation is an agency of the Government of Ontario. With annual funding of $120 million, the foundation works to build healthy and economically strong communities through investments in not-for-profit organizations in the arts and culture, environment, human and social services, and sports and recreation sectors. In addition to its granting programs, the Foundation's community services include research, knowledge-sharing and convening activities.
SickKids Foundation, which raises funds primarily on behalf of The Hospital for Sick Children, is the largest charitable funder of child health research, learning and care in Canada. The organization has assets of more than $700 million, and last year raised more than $100 million in gross revenue. The Foundation's fundraising is driven by the belief that improving the health and well-being of children is one of the most powerful ways to improve society.
